(reaches for Valium) There was a Time Machine for sale on Trade Me a while ago and I do wish I’d bought it. :groan: That way I could have stopped time and single single-handedly saved the planet. :D Not sure it was guaranteed for 8 billion years though.:confused: |

The ancient calendars were revised when the earth's orbit shifted enough to change the 360 day year to 365+ possibly about 760BC. I don't have any more information concerning that event. Perhaps someone else has? Its spin has slowed. Its orbit has stayed much the same since we acquired the moon. They were talking about moving it further out, not just adjusting it slightly. The magnetic field has swapped position before in the past. However no-one thought to note down what happened so we don't entirely know the consequences as yet. |

When this happens the earths magnetic field well be destroyed and all life on earth with it, from the radiation from the sun and stars, as it is the magnetic field that stops these baddies from getting in. Earth would eventually end up like Mars. :) Does Helengrad know about this? Much more dangerous than a couple of nuclear (or nucular GW Bush) powered ships, and so close to home. |
