791109 2009-07-13 21:57:00 So the Phillips that I had been looking at is rubbish? I need an LCD screen costing no more than $279 and that was bought to my attention. convair (13650)

Have a look at the link in post 7 -- I have put in several of those - good budget LCD's - and its within your price range.

Yes - some of the best on the market. Got a 3 year manufacturers warranty.

791113 2009-07-13 23:13:00 I purchased one of these (www.ascent.co.nz) from ascent in late Janurary - arrived the next day and have had no problems with it whatsoever :). davidmmac (4619)
791114 2009-07-13 23:27:00 What will you be using it for? It is a TN panel so it will have little image processing lag but poor viewing angles, contrast and colour reproduction. utopian201 (6245)

Damn caught out :p  Seriously though - I personally have put in many Viewsonic LCD's over the last 6 years - only ever had 2 completely fail - 1 blew up not long after it got a power surge- and the other one had a cup of chocolate split down it ( dont ask :groan:)

Also had 1 that got a stuck Pixel - after 2 1/2 years - the warranty covered it and was replaced the following day without question.
