| 643856 | 2008-02-26 10:36:00 | Just got an iPod Touch 32GB today. Everything works so far. I have signed up with the iTunes Store and have the option to buy songs. At the moment this doesn't interest me but I would like to download some podcasts - which are listed as free. However, the "Get Episode" button isn't highlighted and doesn't work - for any podcast listed. I have looked up the help files and googled this. Can anybody help? |

Your post appears to contradict itself in so far as the first sentence says, "everything works so far". Then in the third sentence you say a button does not work. I was under the impression that anything from Apple "just works" Have you considered going back to where you bought the equipment and asking there? |

Then in the third sentence you say a button does not work . The device works just fine . My problem is with the iTunes Store . I was under the impression that anything from Apple "just works" I gave you that impression? Have you considered going back to where you bought the equipment and asking there? No I hadn't considered that because I do not have a problem with what I bought from them . However, I did consider posting a question on the PressF1 Forum so that people who understand my problem might post something helpful . . . |

| 643860 | 2008-02-26 12:30:00 | Oh we're just having fun with ya Sweep . You did buy a Apple product . Anyway, did you try this: hanks for your answer . I just want to make sure I understand correctly . Are you saying that ITunes will not, with any setting changes or under any circumstances download more than one episode of particular podcast at any one time? Subject: Re: Podcasting; Follow-up: 42535522 > Date: Fri, 15 Feb 2008 06:09:02 -0800 > > > I'm sorry to hear your having trouble using the latest version of iTunes to download Podcasts . I understand you adjusted the podcast subscription settings within ITunes to force it to download the five most recent episodes, but it refuses to download anything but the latest episode for every podcast and you have been manually downloading the mp3 versions then importing them into ITunes as a workaround but this is getting annoying . I know how frustrating this can be . I will be happy to help . > > If you set your settings right at this moment to download the most recent and keep only the five most recent, you will only get one download . So the next time a new one is available, that one will download and save as well and so on until you have 6 episodes stored up . > > At this point the oldest of the 6 episode will no t stay saved in your library and will be automatically deleted . So if and episodes comes out weekly for an example it would take 5 weeks before one episode would be automatically deleted . > > I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause . I hope this makes sense and has answered your question . Thank you for your interest in the iTunes Store . Or: anyway - in itunes, pull down the "edit" menu, click "preferences," click "podcasts," and in the pull down menus, make sure check for new episodes is set to "everyday," when new episodes are available is "download the most recent one," and keep is set to "all episodes . " Restart the program, head into podcasts and see what happens . You may need to manually tell it to pull up the latest ones before it'll kind of reset itself . . maximumpc . com/forums/viewtopic . php?p=770844&sid=d6126c6f579ec9c4f8a95161bd5a39c8" target="_blank">www . maximumpc . com |

| 643862 | 2008-02-26 18:44:00 | Thanks for the replies. I found the problem in iTunes preferences - for some reason, under the Parental Control tab, podcasts and radio were disabled. Works fine now. |

Just a quick suggestion - "Digital Planet" podcast from the BBC is very good. That is if you want to hear the latest digital stuff and analysis, discussion etc. Misty :) |
