791186 2009-07-13 02:14:00 So just recently, I was browsing the web, and instantly,Firefox error'd and closed(No big deal) but oddly, My computer instantly restarted, So I let it start up, and before I see the log-in screen my computer restarts,So I let it go again, Same thing . I let this go on about 5 more times . So I just held down power and shut 'er down .

Confused, I called my cousin, He came over, Checked it out, Didn't know either . So we took my tower apart cleaned everything, booted back up and same thing happens .

I F8'd the boot up and selected safe mode, No luck, It just stays on "Windows is loading", I tried last known boot-up, Same thing, Instant restart .

I tried de-bugging mode . and to my surprise It works . I have no idea why . I went into my startup/shut-down settings, And turned off auto-reboot after crash, I figured that would work, So I chose restart, and right before the log-in screen I get a BSOD, (the KMODE with ntoskrnl error) But why?

Currently I'm in de-bugging mode trying to figure this out . Planning on re-installing tomorrow, maybe even install XP . But I'd like to try and figure this out .

I've tried the solutions I've seen(recover disk,etc . . . )
Nothing works . Didn't install anything, this all just happened from a random firefox crash .

Thanks for the help in advance .

791187 2009-07-13 02:21:00 Could be one of the services is failing and the pc restarts...i have seen that before when a virus is present, however usually a dialog box pops up to advise pending restart...... SolMiester (139)

791190 2009-07-13 06:04:00 You should disable Automatically restart so it can BSOD without going into a pointless loop.

Then check what the exact BSOD says, there are various sites that will give you an idea if you're not sure.

791191 2009-07-13 22:13:00 Run a memory test & hard drive test - could be faulty hardware if you haven't installed/changed anything recently within Windows. autechre (266)
