Camera stores should have them thou, not the Camera House but the more pro stores.

Yes we do that with our expensive real Parmesan cheese , two or three sugar cubes in the plastic box keeps it perfect for many weeks.

By the way Braindead I suppose you know you can reactivate silica gel by drying it out in a domestic oven

Even more basic -

I follow my mother & grandmother's system for preventing the salt (ordinary iodised) from absorbing damp & clagging up the shaker holes.

Add a few grains of rice.
They take up any moisture & are too large to exit the holes.
