646597 2008-03-05 08:12:00 Appropo of this thread I thought I would start a new thread.

pressf1.co.nz

Please note that whilst JJJJJ started the above thread I took it as humour rather than an insult in any way. I use and like my WinXPPro 64 bit O/S BTW.

It appears to me that we have quite a few members on this forum who dislike Windows of any variety. We have people who use other operating systems and there are heaps of variations of those as well. We have other people who join this forum simply (I think) to promote a product or service.

Available to me is anything that fits within my budget and which I may buy or not as the case may be after due consideration.

If I take this out of computer issues let us assume you are standing in a supermarket. You NEED some food as your body will not work without a FOOD intake of some sort. So then we come to balance the budget. So if I elect to buy chamagne when I am on a beer income? Why would any person here spend more than their income?

That's OK wratterus. Possibly it may be worked out over time and more posts.

So you elect to buy baked beans at the supermarket. Which brand would you buy and why?

Do Watties give you a longer emmission of gas or wind from the anus than say Heinz? (For example). Would you buy one or the other for that reason?

Your choice as to whether you even spend money on baked beans of any brand. Spend the money on a variety of Pasta instead maybe.

I took the time to post at 9:12 and you replied at 9:15. Assuming the times are correct then that gives you three minutes to read my post, think about it and also post your reply.

646600 2008-03-05 10:07:00 Are you saying don't buy Macs when all your going to do is run Bootcamp and install XP/Vista anyway?

PS. Heinz-Watties is one company. They both operate under the Watties brand and is incorporated in the USA.

646601 2008-03-05 10:15:00 So - which is better for inducing flatulence - XP, Vista, or "Heinz - Watties Turbo beans"?
;)

646602 2008-03-05 10:36:00 Fair enough. It's impossible to say something is better than another thing across the board as, even with computers specifically and despite specs, functionality and any other metric, it's still largely subjective-based bias IMO. I have no problems with others opinions, sometimes they might get on my list (pressf1.co.nz) but I'm generally indifferent.

beeswax: I hope your avatar has nothing to do with that movie (http://www.teethmovie.com/) :X

No I am not saying that at all. I was aware that Heinz took over Watties and people can buy Macs if they want to for all I care.

I would just prefer that people think and make informed decisions and do not push opinion on others. If an opinion is asked for then that is fine.

PressF1 members are subjected to this sort of thing every day.

Q:- My IE7 is not quite working for some reason?
A:- Use Firefox.

I prefer to try and fix the IE7 problem rather than push another browser.

The fact that some people buy heinz brand or watties brand is immaterial to me but I would ask what influences the choice.

One thing I see here quite often is, "I want an Antivirus and which is the BEST and I also want it FREE." Or words to that effect.

Anyway, after reading this sob story I decided my best next move was to retire to the toilet and <well you know>

Opinions are everywhere. Whether you want them or not, they are always there.

I work with a bunch of ***holes whose opinion is generally based on what they read in the paper (because the media is godlike) or well, whatever. Unless you are in agreement with them, you're wrong. So I just sit back and let them talk their sh!t, even when they complain (and they also do that a lot) about this computer doing that.. I leave em to it. No help, no opinion. Let them go there own way because even in computer related things, they know it all
