646136 2008-03-04 00:47:00 Wonder if anyone might have a copy of an old (1913 I think) song called, "He Had To Get Under, Get Out and Get Under, (to fix his automobile)"?

I have no idea who might have sung it - more than one artist I imagine.

You help will be appreciated.

Thanks.:)

646139 2008-03-04 05:38:00 He'd Have to Get Under - Get Out and Get Under (to Fix Up His Automobile)" is one of lengthier titles in the history of popular songs. The song was written in 1913, with music by Maurice Abrahams and lyrics by Grant Clarke and Edgar Leslie.

It was a hit for recording artists such as Al Jolson in 1913, Billy Murray in 1914, Bobby North in 1920, and it was revived by Bobby Horton in the Ken Burns documentary film Horatio's Drive (2003).

Was it just the midi version you wanted?

If its the mp3 original songs you were after, here's 3 of them :)

I threw them up for you temporarily at one of the sites I manage.
Right click and "save target as" - left click will open them in your player.

1. Billy Murray 1914 (www.theoldtigersden.com)
2. Hoosier Hot Shots 1939 (www.theoldtigersden.com)
3. Bobby Horton 2003 (www.theoldtigersden.com) ?

646143 2008-03-06 22:02:00 Thanks so much, Bevy. Exactly what I need! Great.:)

You may remember a thread I posted a while ago about The Radio Reading Service in Levin. I record some programmes for them and a programme that I am about to record concerns 100 years of motoring in NZ and I thought that would be a good song to use as an introduction. Perfect! That's terrific.

If you are anywhere near Levin, they broadcast on 1602AM, 3935 SW or on the net at http://www.radioreading.org/ - have a listen.

If you know anyone that has problems reading, it may be just what they will enjoy.

Thanks, Bevy. Not just perfect for my programme but great listening as well. Most appreciated.

646145 2008-03-07 05:30:00 Roscoe, you may have copyright issues with that Bobby Horton version, tho I cant see there being any issue with the song itself ;) feersumendjinn (64)
