645366 2008-03-01 19:42:00 Who's got an ASB Visa?

Checked mine the other day. Balance $158.93
Checked the next day - balance $158.08
This morning - balance $157.22

This has been happening for as far as I can tell, for about 2 weeks.

My balance, if you deduct whats been spent from my limit should be $171.36.

Card Services is not open till Monday, they better have a good explanation.
This 85c, 86c etc does not show up as a transaction.

I have not made any transactions since 16th Feb either.

Interesting isn't it.

And no, its not interest, that comes out in one lump and its a lot more than a few cents.

645367 2008-03-01 19:58:00 Don't know whether I'd be complaining if my credit card balance was going down. I'd welcome it!! :D

Do all the transactions since your last statement reconcile to the online statement?

Any foreign currency transactions (fluctuations in exchange rate?)?

645368 2008-03-01 20:29:00 The card is in debt, so the decreasing available balance means I owe more each day.

No, no overseas anything, transactions work out, but these small amounts do not show up as a transaction, and as I said, my balance should be more.

645370 2008-03-01 20:44:00 Ah! Sorry - misread your post .

But if you add up the individual 'legitimate' transactions (the ones you expect to be there), including the opening balance, does it add to the right number (the "right number" being the number you think it should be rather than what the bank is telling you)???

Definitely something to demand an answer about if it doesn't!!

Do you have proof that the balance has changed without showing a transaction?
Screenshot?
Let us know how you get on tomorrow.

645372 2008-03-01 21:05:00 I have an ASB Visa card, but I've never been able to follow the statement. I guess economics is not my line. rumpty (2863)
645373 2008-03-01 21:08:00 Maybe it's the inquiry fee? R2x1 (4628)

Yes.
Yes, several.

$3328.64 is the balance. (Spent)
Limit is $3500.
Available balance today is $157.22.

See?

$3500 - $3328.64 = $171.36.

86c vanished last night.
85c the night before.

Before that, it was roughly 80 something cents. Per day.
Since mid-Feb.

Now if someone was to take say, 80c from 1000 visa accounts per day............

645375 2008-03-01 21:29:00 reminds me an old bank scam where employee took 1/2c from evry account. 1/2 a cent didn't show up on any records and no one noticed for quite some time. tweak'e (69)
