| 792335 | 2009-07-17 01:54:00 | Hello Again. On my other problem thread, I have been sending photos across to Maryann's computer for her to print, via Email. Bit silly eh. We have two comps, both XP Home, Networked. A printer hard connected to my comp & another to Hers. My printer is not in good condition & is not worth repairing, we have had it a long time. Epson StylusPhoto RX510. Maryann has an Epson Stylus CX3900. So. How do we Share printers How do we Share Folders How do we Share Computers. We should be able to access each others Comp & look at Documents, Pictures etc. Seems damned silly sending stuff by email. Remember...words of one syllable please & don't assume I know what you are talking about. Thanks PJ |

| 792336 | 2009-07-17 02:07:00 | First step is get them on the same workgroup. It'll save you entering her IP/Name to access her computer and will simplify things a bit. Right Click My Computer>properties>in the Computer Name tab, click Change>Under Member of, click Workgroup, type the a name for a workgroup(i.e PJ HOME or something) and then do set it to the same workgroup for the other PC. Right click my comp, properties, comp name tab then about halfway down the page will be a button on the right saying change. | 792340 | 2009-07-17 07:29:00 | I would share A folder (create one then share it), dont share the WHOLE hdd. Go to control panel / printers / go into its properties then share it. Then go to the other PC / same place / add a printer. Then search for it |

| 792342 | 2009-07-17 08:49:00 | Go to the PC with the printer / properties / sharing. Tick share this printer. Remember the name that appears here. Its WHAT should appear on the networked PC. (Dont forget to turn the printer on) Then go to the PC (you want to add the printer to). Control panel / printer / add printer. Click on next / A network printer. Click on browse for a printer. If you've shared the printer (and the workgroups are the same click on the workgroup name / name of printer, it should appear here. Select it add it. Thats it |
