646123 2008-06-12 00:41:00 'tis a shame about the battery life on the 900's. Interesting trend though, they've made a good brand very quickly, and now they're just moving backwards. From a fresh idea back to the old standard notebooks. The 1000 won't even have an SSD?! Deathwish (143)
646124 2008-06-12 01:24:00 Er, it will. The 1000H comes with a standard HD. ubergeek85 (131)

Yes but not with an SSD

646126 2008-06-12 03:08:00 Yeah. The 1000 should have an SSD, the 1000H will have a normal HD. ubergeek85 (131)
646127 2008-06-12 04:33:00 It's getting to the point where it's just turning into a normal laptop was deathwish's point. And he's right.

10" is ok, but it's starting to get big, and expensive, and very un-EEE like.

I think the 901 is going to be where I put my money, but the bigger they make it, the more they take away from it. It can either be an amazing, tiny laptop, or a crippled bigger one. And they look to be aiming for the latter.

646129 2008-06-15 06:56:00 Dell E, what does the E stand for? Deathwish (143)
646130 2008-06-15 07:13:00 Exagerated? R2x1 (4628)
646131 2008-06-15 07:21:00 IMO, Asus have lost the plot with the EEE line. The first gen was great, low price and a good built. Now they have nearly doubled the price, and put in components which are unnecessary. The whole buzz about the EEE was its low price... the whole $200 laptop thing has gone out the window now.

The MSI wind and the Dell E are both going to shake up the market a bit, the Dell starts from $299US , and the Wind is in a similar range, ASUS might lose their market advantage.

Didn't take long for the EEE to become obsolete.

Had to happen in this competitive world.
