 I guess it costs a lot of money to broadcast surround sound

646682 2008-03-08 21:59:00 I have Sky and have had it from the early UHF days . When they introduced digital my thoughts wer I was going from 5 channels of mainly crap to 23 channels of mainly crap .

I love the rugby, cricket . I also like some of stuff on the History/Discovery/Doco channels . Most of the other stuff is rubbish to me .
The trouble is that I am now seeing recycled stuff (given a new name of course) for the umpteenth time on these ones . Test Cricket is being shown live on Prime to meet Sky's obligations . Rugby on prime as well - the odd game, delayed by a couple on hours .

I have just put in 1 freeview decoder and will put in a Terrestrial one when they are available . The picture on it is pretty darned good . Superior to Sky, and of course, DTT promises the introduction of HD over a period of time .

I keep asking myself why I don't get rid of Sky . There are online sources for docos on DVD so it is really only the rugby and the one day cricket matches I would miss .

I would be most happy to pay a small monthly fee for this as an add on to freeview . Would have to be cheaper in the long run .

Of course, I could always go back to steam radio!! :banana

That's my thoughts
