2008-03-05 10:38:00 | I've just started using Firefox and Bletch's CSS with the Stylish addon, and it is very good with nothing at all but the vBulletin forum I must say. I was happy just blocking the "peel me add" alone, but recent changes by them have made that more difficult, so it's Firefox and CSS all the way while visiting PCWorld from here on in. @Bletch The t f o o t line that has been "disappearing" when you post is because vBulletin has a style function of it's own by the same name. Therefore it filters it out. :) The trick there is to post the word in ascii so it gets thru the filtering and is then only converted and displayed as text on output. I'm sure you can easily convert text to ascii, but for anyone else wanting to there are plenty of online convertors like this one (getyourwebsitehere.com) The ascii for t f o o t is as follows (one under another and in PHP codebox as this is the only way to show ascii without it being converted to text on display) :thumbs: t f o o t Everywhere in this post you see the word t f o o t is because I used the above ascii - if you click the "quote" for this post, you'll see it won't be anywhere in the quoted post after posting! (not you Bletch, you'll be well up with the play by now lol - but anyone else that may be even remotely interested, tho probably not!) :eek:

Thanks :thumbs: :banana |

2008-03-05 23:00:00 | Looking at your quote of my post I thought at first I must be wrong in my assumption that the tfoot 's would not appear in the quoted post. Had to check it myself before realizing you had obviously put the ascii lines back in the quote to make it correct! :thumbs: :D

2008-03-06 06:13:00 | Too right. :sleep That is the way some people are. Some moan about ads, browsers, cpu's, cars and the list would go on. People even whine about free beer. I know this one to be a fact as I had a visit from a mate whom I had not seen in yonks about a week ago.We had kept in touch on and off by Email and a few phone calls The knock came on the door around the 5:00pm time expected. As it was rather warm outside I offered him a beer and that was refused as it was not the beer HE usually consumed. So I went down to the local liquor shop and bought the beer of his choice. Moral of the story:- 1. I learnt that his beer of choice was different to my brand of choice. 2. When he comes back I will know what goodies to buy but maybe not as he may have changed to some other type or brand due to influences outside my control.

2008-03-07 03:30:00 | GoogleAds = So much better, and they're actually relevant too! Ive seen two so far that are so relevant I clicked on Ads on PressF1 for the first time which can ONLY be good for FairfaxBM!! Still REALLY despise Peel Me :( Even in Windows on my EeePC it still sucks :p

2008-03-07 12:45:00 | I'd rather see the Google ads (which I don't) than the stupid infuriating Peel-Me. I can't get rid of it this time! :angry | Greg (193) | |

2008-03-07 21:06:00 | Mozilla will require an extension to apply it, but it should work. | Erayd (23) | |
2008-03-07 23:46:00 | Doesn't seem possible with Mozilla. Is that Firefox ? Just go here (addons.mozilla.org) and install the "Stylish" addon Then left click the wee "style sheet" icon in bottom right of Firefox and select "Manage Styles" Click the "Write" icon and paste the following CSS of Bletch's in. (This one has the missing "tfoot" bit as well :) ) Name it something in the "Description" field and click save You can then instantly switch a style on or off at will. /*remove ads and misc branding clutter, clean up layout */ .fairfax_nav, #jcornerSmall, #jcornerBig, #advert-banner, #header, #navigation, #page-peel-right-6, .tfoot, .sponsored_links, table[width="160"], td[width="180"], td[width="170"], td[width="300"], div[align="center"] a[target="_new"], div[style="text-align:center; border:1px solid #cccccc; padding:5px; margin:0 10px;"], div[onmouseover="peel()"], img[alt="PC World Forums"], embed[name="jcornerSmallObject"], embed[umode="transparent"], div embed, div iframe, object {display: none;}
