646278 2008-03-04 20:07:00 Wow that was over fast...sounds like Mahe gave the old campaigner a bit of a whooping! wratterus (105)
646279 2008-03-04 20:22:00 Yes Mahe won by quite a few boat lenghts. One thing that annoyed me was the media TV1 saying that Mahe is off to the 2008 Olympics, but they both are except Rob well be rowing in a differant event, not sure which one.

Its a case of the 'buzzword syndrome'.

They will latch onto a word or phrase, or even a state of mind (eg the winner of this race is going to the Olympics), and won't shut up about it. happens all the time with the media, and your not the only person it annoys! ;)

646282 2008-03-04 23:54:00 Can someone please tell me if these guys are so good, why arent we sending both of them or are countries only allowed 1 contestant per race? SolMiester (139)

I believe thats the case, or some restriction like that.

I reckon they should go in the double skulls, and find someone else to do the single skulls.

646284 2008-03-05 00:53:00 I see Rob had an old heart problem return during the race.

I suppose it now begs the question. If Rob had won would it have been the right decision for him to represent us ?

Probably not...and there would be (I assume) the risk of the condition returning when he's at the final in the Olympics...that would not be good.:crying
