792263 2009-07-16 10:35:00 Hi All, I am sure this Q has been asked before so please bear with me.

XP Home OE/Mozilla Firefox.

I have written a letter using Word. Top left is a picture of this house. Top left is our address.

I cannot send it. Something is blocking it. The message I am getting is that the email programme will not send attach that may contain viruses. Please check your security settings.

We always used to bo able to do this, with multiple photos in the letter. Something seems to have changed.

Any ideas, Please. PJ

792264 2009-07-16 10:42:00 Try this ---->

Going from Memory -- Open outlook Express - Tools/ Options/Security Tab, in the top section called virus protection ( I think) make sure the Second check box is UNTICKED that says - do not open or save attachments blah- blah - blah

792266 2009-07-16 10:55:00 What AV are you using - thats not blocking it is It ? To try, disable the AV and see if it will send.

Is it only blocking attachments that are in word, or any attachment. Eg: a separate picture for example.

792268 2009-07-16 11:01:00 Couldn't see anything that I recognised as causing my problem. PJ Poppa John (284)
792269 2009-07-16 11:11:00 I edited in post 4 - I think you answered while I was editing it.

Along with that question - can we assume normal emails ( no attachments) send fine ?

792270 2009-07-16 11:20:00 OK, I read back a bit.
I am pretty sure that "Plain" emails go ok. Will experiment with attachments tomorrow. Bedtime. Thanks W. PJ

792271 2009-07-16 11:24:00 Just found This article (www.compu-docs.com) Second option - Never tried it, so dont know if it works or not.

I have tried to do a screen shot of the path here (www.imagef1.net.nz) - that's running through Virtual XP Via W7 so may not be completely accurate.

Cant find a turned on XP PC in the House at the moment :D

Yep - Bed time soon. Night PJ :sleep

792272 2009-07-17 01:37:00 RIght. I have a better understanding now.

The problem is coming from "Send to Mail Recipient". This is in the drop down box on the desktop.

If I open a new Create in OE, go into My Documents & bring the letter with it's picture across as an attachment, then that works ok. Then I can send the email as normal. So that is what I must do.

Curios about that mail Recipient tho' as it is a different layout to OE.

So for the moment the problem is solved. Thankyou. PJ

But here comes another one !!!
