791714 2009-07-15 02:49:00 I have been using Seagate DiskWizard to backup the System and Program drive successfully for years but recent attempts have failed. First, after burning the second of the two DVD's required came an error message. Then after installing a newer version of DiskWizard a second attempt failed after both disks had been validated up came the message (when checking to see if I could restore files or the image) "corrupted". I did a scandisk check on the actual drive and no problems. Any suggestions? Krad (7878)
791715 2009-07-15 03:32:00 Maybe the DVD drive is stuffed...update the firmware for it.

Are you using W2000 or XP?

791717 2009-07-15 07:00:00 Have you tried other DVDs? Blam (54)
791718 2009-07-15 08:06:00 First two things that come to mind --

One - Are you using DVD RW's If so they could have crapped out - there failure rate is high.

Second - slow down the burn speed - to fast and errors can occur.

791719 2009-07-16 03:54:00 Have been using Sony DVD's for years and found them reliable. In DiskWizard you can only modify the compression so maybe if I try maximum compression which takes longer than the "normal" compression this may slow down the burn speed - otherwise there is no other way to control the burn speed. 791720 2009-07-16 06:12:00 Try Burning CDs/DVDs with another program to see if the drive is faulty or not Blam (54)
