If he is charged with any offence I would donate toward his legal fees. I understand many other people would also to the same. Anyway it is time for people to stick up for themselves but I do not believe it is yet time for vigilante groups. Four people being 16 years of age and possibly a collective mental age of 36! Now they probably deserve a prison term but I would be hesitant to do this. They already display antisocial behaviour and all they would learn in a full fledged prison is how to be more antisocial. Please note that I am not a bleeding heart liberal. I think we have to bring back the cane or strap in schools and teach by discipline. Preferably we teach self-discipline. In schools these days children are taught their rights. Fortunately I was taught by my Parents that along with rights comes the other "r" word. At 18 I asked my Father if I could use the car. Yep, be home at whatever time he imposed and I was. Why? I knew full well with Dad that if I did not live up to my side of the bargain I would never get to borrow the car again. Not only that. My Mother used to sit up at night because she worried about me and where I MIGHT be. For those who may be waiting for the other "r" word. Responsibility. According to some opinions you could get hung, electrocuted, shot, drawn and quartered, lethal injection etc just because you choose to smoke a cigarette which is legal. |
