647735 2008-03-09 20:36:00 If your significant female other cannot start the lawnmower and comes inside to tell you (a male) that she cannot start the lawnmower - and you then go outside, prime the lawnmower, adjust the throttle to just above idle, and then give one gentle pull on the starter cord - and the lawnmower then starts...

If all of these things happen say nothing and walk quietly back inside. This is critical - say nothing.

647736 2008-03-09 20:40:00 This little fable is based on a situation beyond my ken. My significant etc would hardly know where to find our lawnmower, let alone gas it up and start it. You've done well to impart this level of knowledge. Scouse (83)

Saying nothing speaks volumes about male superiority with mechanical things.

As slight glance or a single head shake is ok to remain a superior being.

647742 2008-03-09 21:59:00 Rule #1 - Women are ALWAYS right

Rule #2 - If they happen, on occasion, to somehow get it wrong, refer to Rule #1

At least that's what I get told all the time :p

Hah. My male would go on and on about me not doing these things in the first place and ask me what the hell is wrong with me when we've had a mower for years and years and what kind of tech do I think I am (even though this has nothing to do with PCs).

Then he'd stand there and criticise my lawn mowing technique as well and complain when I don't wash the mower out after.

He's always done that sort of thing.

He;d then bring it up several more times over the next 3 months.
