I realise that they are a necessary evil, but it is not compulsory to watch them. I record most of the programmes I watch (not a lot) with the main reason to fast forward through the ads. I have a DVD recorder which means that I do not even see them flit by. I can advance the DVD by 30 second chunks and because there is usually four minutes, eight presses of the button (about eight seconds), and I am back to the programme. It's as though there were no ads at all. What bliss! I am of the opinion that most of the ad makers think that there are many idiots out there and so the level of the ads is that of the lowest common denominator and therefore an insult to most people's intelligence - or lack of. Thank goodness I do not have any idea of which you speak.:clap |

| 647650 | 2008-03-09 09:02:00 | I don't make a point to watch ads either - but these ones do seem to be helping a lot of people with that affliction going on in their lives, and I say well done to John Kirwan (who's mate told him to harden up!) and all the others giving their time and effort for this cause.
