647083 2008-03-07 08:38:00 And who was it that said the PS3 is the best blu-ray player? haha, yea sure, only if you're loaded now. --Wolf-- (128)

Not me but that person was correct. $200 isn't too bad.

647085 2008-03-07 09:53:00 We'll see when it actually turns up. I guess they can finally take advantage of huge economies of scale and a monopoly in the next-gen DVD market. beeswax34 (63)

Thats if the Blu ray hard drive concept is still relevant in 6-12 months.

The comment was that in some quarters they are considered to be the best Blu-Ray player on the market, The resons why some people/reviewers had this opinion was explained to you in what should have been a simplistic enough manner for you to understand.

You seemed to refute the possibility based on a teenage condition where deluded children think whatever console they own is better then anything and everything on the market that could possible occupy the same shelf space.

Its called being a fanboy, Completely harmless though, and most kids grow out of it.....

647088 2008-03-08 05:54:00 Oh that's right, it was you. Shouldn't have brought it up.

And since when did it have anything to do with a console war? I never said 360 is better than PS3, cuz that's like way off topic. I just said buying a PS3 as a dvd (well, blu-ray) player isn't worth it, especially now that claimed $200 players are coming.

But I'm over arguing with you so whatever.

That's US$200 he's talking about. Based on the current PS3 NZ pricing compared to the US pricing expect to see this US$200 player costing about $500 here..

If it is needed by the time it gets here.

I believe at the time you were advocating people buy the Xbox 360 and an addon blu-ray player (when available?) rather then a PS3. The reason I believe it was silly fanboy nonsense is because it made absolutely no sense at all.

And no, I never made the comment that the PS3 was the best Blu-ray player, I reported that some people considered them to be the best option based on the reasons already explained, The purpose of reporting this view was to illustrate to a third party that not only was the PS3 capable of blu-ray playback, but that these capabilities were held in very high regard.

And fwiw, I'm not arguing with you in any sense.
