| 792764 | 2009-07-18 20:26:00 | My daughter has forgotten her "Log on to Windows" password and did not make a "Password Reset Disk". Is there any way I can get around this for her? Computer - HP Pavilion - No disks. |

| 792765 | 2009-07-18 21:18:00 | There are some bootable CDs on the Internet - give Ophcrack (http://ophcrack.sourceforge.net/) a try. | pcuser42 (130) | ||

Reboot the PC, keep tapping F8 on startup, select Safe mode, When it boots, select the Administrators account. Once loaded, go-- Start/Control Panel/ User Accounts --- locate your daughters Login - click it, remove password, reboot. start PC normally -- Password will be gone and a new one can be made. XP's real secure eh!!:D |

| 792769 | 2009-07-19 04:20:00 | You guys are a bit off track. The OP does not need to crack the password, they just need to reset it. Its much faster to bypass than crack, as Wanuitech has pointed out:D IF WT's method doesn't work, download this:www.piotrbania.com and burn the iso to a CD. Boot from it, type anything at the password screen, and you're in :D From there you can change the password. Blam |
