792692 2009-07-18 03:20:00 Have a WD usb drive that I wanted to use with an old win98 system i use in my music system. The creative recorder and wavestudio software i am running do not run under XP and the 333 celeron runs cleaner under win98.

Have tried a couple of optional drivers off the net and can get the drive recognised but not accessed due to usb hub driver not loaded under device manager.

All suggestions welcome:thanks

792693 2009-07-18 03:28:00 Try the ones here (www.technical-assistance.co.uk) select the version of 98 youre using. See what happens Speedy Gonzales (78)
792694 2009-07-18 05:10:00 Another option, buy from DSE a PCI to USB 2.0 card - drivers come with it for W98 - works fine. Peter H (220)
792695 2009-07-18 05:18:00 Try upgrading to Windows 2000, if you can (the system should be able to hack it - how much RAM does it have?) :) jwil1 (65)

So have you worked out the actual O/S version you want to plug the USB drive into yet?
