, you know the first time I saw that many years ago (I was LITTLE thats my excuse), I assumed it was Wine as i am pretty sure there used to be a Chateau cardboard wine in the early 80s and it had sort of a medieval/Germanic design on it, kind of embarrased when i figured out it wasn't wine, mind you it made the war make more sense

648260 2008-03-12 22:47:00 Liebfraumilch was a very popular cheapish German wine around a lot in the 60's in NZ! [Edit - Oops, sorry I did not notice you said the 80's] John H (8)

I think it was actually "liebestraum" wine, which i believe is locally produced, not sure what it means in German, "sweet dreams"?

hmmm babelfish reckons it means "loving area" which sounds a bit dodgy

648264 2008-03-12 23:13:00 Was Liebfraumilch also Blue Nun, or were they separate wines? I have a very happy memory of the latter from 1965 - sharing a bottle with the woman who was my girlfriend at the time, and to whom I have been married since 1966! John H (8)

Good grief! Wikipedia is your friend. I would have never expected either Liebfraumilch or Blue Nun to have entries there! Thanks Nigel.
