| 648471 | 2008-03-15 06:55:00 | I do not mind the real estate agents making a good cop, as they can do quite a bit of work for a sale. But it the TOTAL fee the real estate COMPANY charges that is exhorbitant ! And as they work on percentages their fees have doubled in the last few years as house prices have doubled. |

| 648473 | 2008-03-18 20:12:00 | Keep in mind if you do buy or sell via an agency, they can and sometimes do negotiate their fees. For example when we bought this house, the vendor negotiated down to a fair price, but he stuck on it and I wanted a further 2 grand reduction. So I spoke to the agency manager (Harcourts) and made a deal with him to cut his fee to the vendor by 2 grand, thereby letting the vendor drop his price a further 2 grand. |
