648839 2008-03-13 03:47:00 I would agree, but I would have thought they would have learned from the bubble problems. Maybe Xtra don't know what Yahoo are up to, as their email systems are no longer in NZ.

What do you mean "learn". When you are as big as Xtra what do you need to "learn"?

Learning is for wimps, when you are Xtra you just do what ever you want an DAMN THE TOPEDOES!

648841 2008-03-17 04:06:00 For businesses this latest change is the death knell for Xtra. Yes, it's not that hard to do to make the latest changes, but, and it is a big BUT... you can only have a maximum of 10 sub account email addresses. Many business with thier own domain name have 20 30 50 email addresses in their business domain. Think about how long this will take, and the ongoing support costs everytime a new employee joins or someone leaves the company!

They have let Xtra customers know... last Friday afternoon... a whole 1.5 working days notice. And the Bubble immediately crashed on Friday. You would have thought they would have learnt after last time!

So, do it now, change, change change your ISP. Vote with your feet and your $$$. If nothing else, the Xtra broadband management team will lose some bonuses! :)

648842 2008-03-17 06:24:00 urg xtra email.... whats wrong with Windows Live Mail a.k.a hotmail? 5Gb of storage is enough for a lot of people.

btw I use slingshot :)

648843 2008-03-17 06:31:00 Yeah, but Spartan 860, even with Live Mail you still need to connect to the internet somehow - which requires an ISP .

And not everyone likes using a webmail interface .

648844 2008-03-17 07:06:00 I for one, object to being handed to Yahoo for email services. I will see what happens after 25th March. I may have to move back to Clear.

Xtra's helpdesk in the Philippines can't even get across what it says in the page referred to via Geekzone.

Apparently it starts tommorrow (18th), however I had someone contact me a few days ago who had the problem with their domain based email not sending through xtra.

648846 2008-03-17 17:04:00 Yes, but the thing is that I don't think many people left Xtra last time with the Bubble fiasco.

The reason is that people do not want to lose the email address and are worried about the viability of other ISP';s. So they stay with the encumbent.

And the same will happen this time.

Look at the broadband take up figures ! Xtra is doing far better than all the other ISP's combined ! numbers wise.
