648562 2008-03-11 10:49:00 I was just scanning over the most recent PDF report from av-comparatives (www.av-comparatives.org/) (Feb '08) and came across an AV I wasn't particularly familiar with called TrustPort (http:) (I just did a forum search and zilch). It apparently topped eveything based on detection rates (what av-comparatives reports on) which I thought was impressive but I later learned it runs four virus scanning engines! (www.download.com)

Now that's pretty awesome. Overhead and apparent performance issues aside, it must be pretty cool boasting AV like that.

648563 2008-03-11 20:17:00 Good link Sal - it's a shame it doesn't take system performance into account though; you'd still happily buy NAV based on those results!! :groan: nofam (9009)

What are the minimum system requirements to run TrustPort Internet Gateway?

Minimum requirements for the server:

* Windows 2000, Windows 2003 or Windows XP.
* Internet Explorer 6.
* Pentium III or higher Pentium compatible processor.
* At least 512 MB of memory, more memory generally improves performance.
* 10 GB free disk space (it is necessary to have enough space to generate logs, the program itself needs approximately 150 MB).
* Server that is frond-ended (sic) to the mail server, where the solution will be installed. Or (sic) efficient mail server where the solution will be installed.

Minimum requirement for client is a suitable browser application:

* Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher
* Mozilla 1.6 or higher
* FireFox 1.0 or higher

Just wish they had the foresight to proofread and grammar-correct the text. I sure don't put a lot of faith in the product to see it all written in Czechlish or Engrish.

AV-Comparatives are a group who specialise in AV detection testing, they do mention on their websites front page (near the bottom mind you) that this is only one of many factors that determines a good AV.

That said, another AV report was released a few days ago by av-test.org (av-test.org/) (another oft-quoted source for AV ratings). You can see a rating break down here (http:) but even more interesting is the best to worst AV table (stash.ableapp.com). As with the AV-Comparatives report, the top three here aren't as commonly recommended or to me even known.

648567 2008-03-15 05:00:00 Those requrements are for "TrustPort Internet Gateway", if you read your own post.

Doesn't sound like an antivirus product to me.

I think someone's got the wrong sys req. list
