| 792716 | 2009-07-18 04:20:00 | I often see in the movies some one using a lap top then just closing the lid. I know this shuts down the machine but just what does it do. Does it close the programs or go into standy by or something? Is it a good way to shut down? |

| 792717 | 2009-07-18 04:26:00 | Depends on your setting of the laptop, I have set mine to do nothing when i close the lip, so all the programs are still running. I think by default all laptops go into standby mode when you close the lid. Check the settings on your laptop. | ronyville (10611) | ||
| 792718 | 2009-07-18 04:26:00 | It depends. On both WinXP and Vista/7 you can configure it to do whatever you want when you close the lid. You can set it to hibernate, or shutdown, or sleep, or do nothing Each have their advantages and disadvantages, all are safe except the last, for obvious reasons:p Blam |
