| 792558 | 2009-07-17 20:40:00 | What is the name of the cable that connects your front usb ports to the motherboard? I have one with a 9pin plug at either end that is too short for the motherboard going into the case. The one I have is about a foot long, but its only about 2" too short One end of the cable says I/O, the other says sys board. I am trying to look for one, but without a proper name, Im not sure what to look for Both ends look like this: |

| 792563 | 2009-07-19 22:15:00 | Plan C: Sledgehammer to the cases USB ports to shunt them the necessary 2" further back towards the mobo. Suggest you power off before trying this one. Or on a serious note - what about cutting your existing cable in half, and splicing in some extra lengths of wire? Not guaranteed to be free of noise and giving full USB 2 speeds however. |
