1441737 2017-11-08 06:19:00 Feeling pretty cocky here with all my L-based successes . . . . . so now a new windmill calls from just over the horizon .

Raspberry Pi .

I got one a couple of months ago, and have since gathered up a nice HDMI cable, a 60" flat screen, my mini USB 2 Amp power supply, a USB keyboard and mouse .

I have a nice new Micro SD card with the suggested L-based n00b distro and a supposedly recognizable USB Wifi 'undongled' card .

Also picked up a USB soundcard dongle . . . . . . for which Raspian (?) . . . is also supposed to have the correct drivers .

Either way, I can always uncoil my 200' CAT5e cable again!

Let's see how much smoke I can get outta it . . . . . like our microwave did this afternoon!

Nothing like the smell of electrum in the afternoon . I'm having 'way too much fun here .

1441740 2017-11-08 18:20:00 Got lots of Kool-Aid in the stores here .

I guess the FDA doesn't mind us staining our innards with artificial colors and dyes .

Then there's the copious amounts of refined white sugar it takes . I tried to circumvent that sugar-thing by using honey (double-yuck!!!) and brown sugar (a serious yuck here!) and automobile antifreeze (works great! and probably less malevolent in the sweeteners department!)

Let's see if I can work up another CARE package to you in Upsidedown Land . Last time I had to put a package on the outside of the box so it would not be considered as something I was trying to illegally send to youse .

Youse customs guys could peel off that outer package as a sample that way .

Did the outer sample package get to you or had it been 'collected as evidence" by youse customs inspectors?

Come on UP! (as: to the northern hemisphere) and visit any time you want .

I can get a translator to help me understand your version of The King's English .

We also have a very nice* spare bedroom .

*give my wife a 48-hour heads up when you come so we can move the goat out first .

To other vistas:

I just picked up a nice pair of Pioneer 4' high speaker columns . Before I get hauled over the coals for using antique gear - I love the response of super deep columns made out of MDF .

MDF is the best sound enclosure material that they (accidentally) made . It adds nothing to the sound (transients and such) and takes very little away (attenuation) .

They have two 15" woofies and a single mid range 10"er with a nice 4" dome piezo tweet in each one of them . 500Watt capacity each .

With 2K Watts for one of my big bass guitar amps and some 4-10s and a pair of 1-15s, we can rock your socks off .

Oops! Do Kiwis wear socks! Pardon my social gaffe . . . . . . if I made one .

I'm going over to the technical side now --- BBS
