| 1440653 | 2017-10-11 02:16:00 | I removed a HDD from a laptop which couldn't start Windows. I think Windows is badly corrupted. I then plugged the HDD to another PC running Win10 so that I can retrieve some important documents. But, Windows Explorer won't allow me to read the files in C:\Users\XXX .. no permission to access. How to get access to that folder? |

If yes, then on the PC you are using to access the drive, just create the same username and use the same password. Log into that username and see if you are able to access the second drive that way. |

I did say it was Slooooow, but it usually finishes. all depends on the speed of the host PC as well as the amount of files on the slave drive. I actually use windows based /CD software that has a file explorer, no permissions to worry about, copy to another HDD. |
