| 1441596 | 2017-11-15 02:43:00 | Living beyond your means is the same for Governments as it is for individuals. ;) It’s self regulating and you get to the stage where you can’t borrow any more because no one will lend to you owing to your debt level. Muldoon found this out the hard way, so got on the Turps, called a snap election, lost, and left Lange and Douglas holding the baby. They really only had one option, and that was to start selling the silverware. So thanks to Muldoon we lost the P&T, Banks, NZED and so on, but Labour got the blame. Unfortunately, most of our silverware has already been sold, so if some of our present Politicians and Treasury don’t smarten their act up we’re in deep poo. :( |
