A friend of mine decided to dispose of her collection that she had basically regarded as part of her retirement fund and only got a small fraction of what she had expected it to be worth. Had a mate of mine find that out himself. He collected a lot of costly stamps, thinking they would gain in value over time, only to discover their yield was pretty poor when he came to sell them. I think there we a lot of dealers pushing stamp collecting as an investment back in the 70's/80's. |
