| 1441812 | 2017-11-11 08:51:00 | Also from Spike Milligan… I am the Vicar of St Paul’s And I’m ringing the steeple bell, The floor of the church is on fire, Or the lid has come off Hell. Shall I ring the fire brigade? Or should I trust in the Lord? Oh dear, I’ve just remembered – I don’t think we’re insured! ‘What’s this then?’ said the fire chief. Is this church C of E? It is? Then we can’t put it out, My lads are all RC! |

| 1441814 | 2017-11-13 00:37:00 | I'm off to buy my Sydney granddaughter a book of Spike's poems for Christmas. I do have a audio copy of 'Bad Jelly' - our kids loved it - a regular Sunday morning treat. Bad Jelly was our kids favourite as well. I used to have an audio cassette tape (remember them?) of our kids acting out Bad Jelly (the eldest of the three must have been 12 or under and he is now 48). Sadly the cassette tape is lost and it was a real treasure. I have fond hopes it will turn up one day when we least expect it... I got to know the Goons on my crystal set when I was still at primary school and I am now 72. Sigh... They don't make them like they used to. |

From memory, it is two files, but is the authentic one with Spike himself reading it. I joined the 2 files together and have passed it on to a number of people. And I have all the Goon Shows too... |

When I consider all the things my sons lost... Not to mention other misdemeanors. But they have grown up to be very nice (and surprisingly very law-abiding citizens). I now say to other parents - 'Have faith! They will be just fine.' |
