1441226 2017-10-28 08:14:00 Same here Roscoe. Lived on a farm and the radio was going non stop. Aunt Daisy was well remembered.! Bought my first radio, a La Gloria , car/portable with a bracket to fit it in the car. Metal case and clear sharp sound. Held 6 c type batteries, rather expensive back then. Still got it, can't part with it. Heck, that's going back 60 years ago. :-) :-) BobM (1138)
1441227 2017-10-28 08:24:00 talk back or Radio NZ. I often had Garage TV on my surround sound as I loved the music but that's gone now like Alt TV

A little story about “Dork Back Radio”.

A good mate of mine loved his “Dork Back Radio” and upon his death his widow asked me to arrange some music for the service.

Now this was a bit awkward, because he was a CCR and Dr Hook type Muso, so I asked his brother for advice.

Oh that’s simple came the reply. Just put on Leighton Smith.

But it got worse.

Being in a complete quandary I thought I’d best check with the Undertaker as to just where the boundaries were on this matter.

Having explained my predicament to the Undertaker he responded that the service was a “Celebration of the person’s life” and any music would be fine. The other day he had had a Coffin carried out to “Another One Bites the Dust” (Queen).

What is the world coming to?

1441228 2017-10-28 08:35:00 I listen to to Coast radio. At work it goes thru a Bluetooth speaker from my fone. Bit of hijacking of Bluetooth pairing goes on as we have people young to old(me). I have had some head banging music playing thru mine. Got them back they have to listen to Merlin engine noises form Spitfire/Hurricane flypast and one with a continually recorded Stuka dive bomb siren. What really gets them going is Dolly Parton, ONJ, John Denver etc. I wouldnt play Barry Manilow, Slim Dusty or Kamalh too mean they would lose the plot. prefect (6291)

Some guys have had the balls to play this www.youtube.com On their wedding day .

:lol::lol:

I get "THE LOOK" :stare::stare: from SWMBO if I play it and start humming or singing along.

1441230 2017-11-06 00:32:00 All kinds of music I listen on Radio, but wish they had music hosts like Casey Kasem (en.wikipedia.org) (American Top 40) whom I listened plenty times during the '70's. Some recordings of Casey online (www.mixcloud.com), including from 1975... kahawai chaser (3545)
1441231 2017-11-06 19:42:00 Husband is a radio person . ZB too, ugh .

I used to occasionally listen to BFM but this car hasn't got one, not really keen on buying one, mostly I find them an annoying distraction in cars .

At home, husband does tune in now and then, but then he doesn't go online, I do .

I prefer online, GD likes music in the car, at home, never, she'd be online too .

1441232 2017-11-12 23:12:00 Radio . Mainly RNZNAtional (formerly RadioNZ . Music, In depth interviews and news .
In weekend afternoons when I am travelling on a bus I regularly listen to Veitch on Sport on 1ZB .
Too much of TV is "reality" and skittish .
e . g . . "Tokyo was bombed by a nuclear missile today . Now back to The Bachelor"

1441233 2017-11-13 02:38:00 Like a lot of people of my era, I grew up listening to the radio. When I was home sick from school I often heard the morning serial on 2ZB "Doctor Paul, a story of Adolf Love". It puzzled me a bit, who was Adolf Love? He never featured in any episode I heard. Years later I realised it wasn't Adolf at all!

Another one was "Portia Faces Life" and I never got that one either. Even if several months elapsed between the episodes I heard nothing seemed to happen, but Portia still seemed to be having some sort of problem.

In the evenings "Dr Kildare" (pre-TV) was much more fun, with a chance of real blood and guts.

1441234 2017-11-14 00:22:00 Radio "Magic" has also been getting a great hearing here in blenheim. 60's 70's 80's style. BobM (1138)
1441235 2017-11-14 02:08:00 I live on the North Shore and listen to Wairau FM Radio owned by Jim Wolf. It is a low powered station with a limited range. Plays music ranging from the 20's to the 70's, non stop 24/7. No adverts, other than old ones "bringing back a memory". Frequency's 96.4 & 96.7. mzee (3324)
