1440985 2017-10-23 03:55:00 The thing is, if it was slow AFTER Windows came up, then I'd be looking at software, but this is before.
What did you use to check the hard drive?

Take a look in Event Viewer and see if there are any flags relating to the HDD.

1440988 2017-10-23 19:11:00 PJ when it was slow, the device was possibly still downloading and/or installing the changes. It would seem that it has now finished and is back to normal. Bryan (147)
1440989 2017-10-24 05:56:00 OK, if it's not slow anymore, it's cured.
Don't fix it if it no longer has an issue.

1440990 2017-10-27 00:09:00 Our work HP running win7 recently recently showed same symptoms with the hard drive running at 100 pc for more than 10 mins and we traced it to a program automatically downloaded fro m MS which is called "windows compatibility...". you just disable it in the Task Scheduler and all is happy again. Look in Task manager and resource section to see what is making it run. piva (3796)
