1440904 2017-10-19 02:50:00 Ok, what goes on here.

I have a website that has a page that links to a youtube Video.

If I link to it with a address, it works fine, but if I link to it using a https: address, all I get is a black square where the video should be. The other pages work fine using either.

Now, just by coincidence, Google notified me a few days ago that the Sites SSL certificate had expired, which I’ve renewed, and I have confirmation of that by the sites host.

It looks to me like a conflict between Google security and youtube, but what does one do to fix it?

Wait for the cert to propagate?

I wondered that too, so I got onto Open Host and they managed to reproduce the fault exactly on two different Browsers (Chrome & Firefox) but are also scratching their heads.

They assure me the new certificate is fine, so have issued a ticket.

I’m starting to think things are getting so secure these days as to be rendered useless.

A bit like “Health and Safety” and all their nonsense.

Will do Wainui, but I'll put it on hold at the moment whilst Open Host are working on it.
