If I were to do a Factory Reset to my Samsung Galaxy Note, what exactly happens. I assume the OS & whatever Samsung loads, but does all other data disappear. Thanks. PJ

So backup first.

1440638 2017-10-10 20:50:00 Not quite, although backing up is definitely good advice. It will not for example revert to older versions of the OS or remove updates, it'll just reset the current OS to it's freshly installed state as if you just bought it. It also doesn't necessarily delete data, just removes all the apps you installed. I wouldn't count on it or anything but music and pictures etc may not get deleted, particularly if they are on an SD card rather than the internal memory.

Also if you have googles back up and restore option active and do a factory reset it'll start reinstalling everything once you log back into the same google account on it.
