649957 2008-03-16 20:09:00 Hi all

I've got this new Samsung SPH-M300 mobile as a work phone, and when I tried everywhere this w/e to get an USB cable (so that I can do some of my own ringtones) I have been told it's too new, cables not yet available.

Is there any other way of getting the files onto my mobile ?

649958 2008-03-16 20:17:00 Yes - throw it on the net and download it to your phone. This is a killer in data charges though :groan:. Unfortunately this is the only way to get ringtones onto my phone (Samsung A900) - the USB cable can be used to put audio files on the phone, but it won't allow you to use them as ringtones unless they are downloaded off the net.

I'm willing to bet this is another evil scheme by Telecom to charge excessive amounts of money - the data charges are more than buying a ringtone from Telecom would be.

649959 2008-03-16 20:29:00 my old nokia plays anything as a ringtone.mp3's even.
I just put the phone memory card in my card reader and drop the mp3's onto the card. or bluetooth transfer.

is the samsung a bit limited on what it plays?

If it does, I've got 2 USB cables here, ones for the camera (this pic), and the MP3 player here.

Nope, mine looks like a mini-USB, and you also use the same port to charge the phone?

I saw the dongle this w/e (and cheap too) but the girl there said you could not transfer music files that way? Of course, me being a bluetooth noob, had to agree?
