649759 2008-03-15 23:09:00 Can anyone suggest where I can obtain a Standard 3 pin 120 degree Din Line Socket Female?

For use on power feed cable to Furuno GPS & Depth Sounder combo.

I can find most anything but 3 pin. :crying

No, Google hasn't been my friend on this one either. :(

It's Standard DIN with 3 pins 120 degrees apart ( some have the middle pins straight across half way) and looks like the the plug on the end of a old Keyboard. The later keyboards have a Mini DIN.

Oh, it's the Female End so I guess that should be 3 sockets?

and it goes on a lead not screwed to a panel.

649763 2008-03-16 02:25:00 DIN are an "interesting" connector series, with 180, 240, 270 degree versions (the total angle between the outer pins).

In the 180 degree series, at least, a 5 pole socket will work with a 3 pin plug; I'd bet that a 5 pole socket (with the appropriate angle) will fit your equipment. 5-pole seem to be more commonly available these days, but Jaycar's (www.jaycar.co.nz) PS0352 looks more like a 180 rather than a 240 (or 270 if your angle is a wrong guess) :(

Dead right Graham and then they throw in the Mini versions just to help out .

Yeah, my built in protractor could easily have guessed wrong with the number of degrees .

The 5 pin socket sounds like a option I'm off to explore, plus a check of Jaycars site . The local branch of Jacars (Tauranga) have been no help .

I'll be back with the results of my research . :thanks

XRL and Din aren't the same. Although XRL is like a beefier version of Din.
