When I fill my Nissan, the cashier asks me how much money I have and usually takes the lot!:annoyed: At least he does it with a smile and not a wild grin.:clap I used to drive a 1953 Ford Zephyr and it was one of the best cars I have had. It had a name. It was called "Genny" but I can't remember why. Tremendous performance and outshone most other cars at the time, but I'm not certain that you could afford to drive one today - 6 cylinder and about 2 litres, I think. It had a column change which was a bit of an innovation but the linkages would occasionally jam and so it was necessary to carry a rubber hammer. That, as I recall, was the only problem I encountered. There were some said that it was light in the tail and some carried a bag of sand or something similar in the boot. I was taught to drive the car (any car, really) around the corners and so rarely had a problem. I would still like to have a car like that today, but at 20mpg only the rich could afford it. At today's prices most could only afford to back it out onto the road.:D |

Much better than the English crap we used to get, Vauxhall, Jaguar, Morris, Austin, Hillman, Triumph, Rover, etc, lol. note: I am of English origin. |

| 649454 | 2008-03-14 21:25:00 | Best car I had to date was my Daihatsu Rugger (Fourtrack in Europe) short wheel base 4WD, light, 2.7Turbo Diesel, power to pull just about anything and quick too, excellent short range box really would and did go anywhere. Don't have a car of my own now just the wife's run around I cycle by choice everywhere and only borrow her car when need to go further afield. Saving me at least $180 a week, work it out figures are true based on 4 year old car using depreciation, fuel and running costs. | gary67 (56) | ||
| 649455 | 2008-03-14 22:05:00 | Best car I ever had was my 91 Nissan Primera. Drove it to its fullest capacity and it never complained | Myth (110) | ||
| 649456 | 2008-03-14 22:37:00 | The best car I ever had was my first. A 1983 Hyundai Pony! It had an 1100cc engine and a 4 speed manual gear box. My mates and I used to give it absolute death and it just laughed and carried on like nothing was wrong. We used to take it off road all the time too! Eventualy the engine seized because I didn't bother checking the oil for about a year :o |

| 649457 | 2008-03-14 23:06:00 | My current car reminds me of the importance of taking risks in life, because I decided to import it from Japan myself, rather than buying through a dealer - ended up paying $13k for a car that would've cost me $17.5k otherwise. No risk - no return!! :D |

Broadway (main street), Stratford, was packed with American classics from one end to the other; that'd be getting up to 1km. There were 2 or 3 barrel nose, Ford V8 pickups, the vehicle I got my license in, back in the '60s. Also model A pickups, like my father used for a farm vehicle (except these one's were tweaked). I quite like cars, but not really a "petrol head". I've got an AUII Ford Falcon & find if I drive it sensibly, it's not too bad economy wise. My wife has a Ford Focus, which is a pretty reasonable little car. No particular reason but most of my vehicles have been Fords. |

| 649459 | 2008-03-15 01:07:00 | Nissan Bluebird. December '93 SES. The one with all the extras, SR20de and Skyline gearbox. Love it! Goes quite quick when you need it to, but I can get better than 9L/100km. Quicker than a lot of Skylines around. Would definitely buy Nissan again. :punk |
