| 794009 | 2009-07-22 02:07:00 | Got the WL-520GU. Want to plug a Canon MF5630 into it, and ideally set it up on roughly 15 - 20 PCs, printing to a TCP/IP Port. At the moment I'm running the latest factory firmware, and looking on the Asus site, that printer isn't supported. After trying a few times to set it up I've decided they are right - at least trying to set it up this way doesn't work. I don't have the original disk with the printer setup part on it either, and can't find it for download. When the printer is plugged in, the router seen that a printer is plugged in, but none of the information, eg it doesn't have the make or model, so it would appear it isn't seeing the printer properly. Would Tomato or DD-WRT allow me to get around this? I had a look at the DD-WRT wiki page, but the instructions there I have to admit are a wee bit over my head, very linux-ie and not at all conclusive. :p Any help or ideas would be much appreciated. :thanks |

| 794011 | 2009-07-22 02:47:00 | 15 - 20 PCs, not printers. I know there's plenty of other ways to set it up but if it's possible to get it working with the WL-520GU that would be useful. :) Already got a network capable OKI running no hassles. | wratterus (105) | ||
| 794012 | 2009-07-22 05:20:00 | Tomato is your friend, 'nuff said ;) AFAIK you may need a Tomato Mod version which enables the USB support on the WL-520GU (See linksysforums.org) but its definitely doable and incredibly easy at that :) |
