Then scan with whatever you get. Get malwarebytes below as well, Update it then scan If youre using a modem/router, try resetting it then reconfiguring it. Sometimes when a browser redirects, it can hit a router. The only way to fix it, is to reset / reconfigure it. And nothing will appear in a HJT log |

2009-07-21 04:42:00 | Try download mbam and running it: www.malwarebytes.org IF it redirects download from another computer and transfer it over.

2009-07-21 06:20:00 | Thanks guys. The redirection was weird. Windows didnt provide any wireless networks but the computer would connect to a dlink modem somewhere (I have asus). In windows a setting had changed which I corrected and all back online again :) I am running malware bytes and will uninstall Nortons and replace with probably avast or avg. It is usually my first job on any computer I get but got lazy and thought I would run Nortons until it expired. Lesson learnt.

2009-07-21 06:28:00 | Go with avast much better than AVG | gary67 (56) | |
2009-07-21 06:40:00 | Go with avast much better than AVG done! It's doing an initial boot scan as we speak.

2009-07-21 19:51:00 | Don't forget to turn off memory scanning on boot it's the only annoying thing I find with Avast other than that it's a great free program | gary67 (56) | |
2009-07-21 22:45:00 | done! It's doing an initial boot scan as we speak. Do you guys normally do this? I skip it because i havent updated the definitions until i reboot anyway.??

2009-07-21 22:48:00 | Yup I dont usually do the boot scan anyway. Last time I did it hung, and I reset it. All I do, is install it, untick the boot scan, reboot, update then scan | Speedy Gonzales (78) | |
2009-07-23 02:33:00 | Could seperating the user account into two - a user, and an admin help prevent rampant malware attacks like this? In my mind it wouldnt hurt-If its vista theres probably little point though. I see daemon tools - the last time I installed that I was slightly worried about the extras it installed and got rid of it. Toolbars or other things like that I never trust.
