793416 2009-07-20 20:21:00 I'm trying to install the Office 2003 suite (pro) on my Vista system, but it's not a happening thing.

The error I get can be seen in this image (imagef1.net.nz).

I have all the recommended updates and service packs installed.

Any advice would be appreciated.

ps - sorry if this is a duplicate post - not sure why PF1 loses my original posts!

793417 2009-07-20 20:41:00 XP? Vista? Because its a permissions error. Turn off UAC if Vista. pctek (84)

793419 2009-07-21 00:04:00 Try running the setup.exe file on the disk as admin. wratterus (105)
793420 2009-07-21 00:05:00 Activate the Net Administrator account. Log in to it. Install Office pro from there.
That worked for me after several failed attempts from my normal user account.

793425 2009-07-21 01:34:00 Yeah I'm running as admin on Vista with all service packs installed.

You're in an account with admin privileges, or you're running the office *.exe file as Admin? (Right click, run as administrator) Big difference. ;)
