Here are some of the contraindications (i.e. when you are not supposed to use it): Severe hepatic impairment; where sexual intercourse inadvisable due to CV risk factors incl cardiac failure, unstable angina; BP < 90/50 mmHg or > 170/110 mmHg; recent stroke, MI; hereditary degenerative retinal disorders; history of nonarteritic anterior ischaemic optic neuropathy (NAION); concomitant nitric oxide donors, organic nitrites/ nitrates incl glyceryl trinitrate, isosorbide salts, Na nitroprusside, amyl nitrite, nicorandil; children.
