I take it you have never tried Google Maps for locating a destination/bar/restaurant on your phone?
(I haven't personally but apparently with a decent web browser it is a pretty simple exercise)

649289 2008-03-14 08:05:00 Google Maps for mobile is pretty impressive if that's all you've got. Only good for the times you really are lost though with the cost of mobile data usage. sal (67)
649290 2008-03-14 08:14:00 Very true especially with NZ scary rates. If the likes of Vodafone and Telecom were to drop their mobile data charges like they are starting to do in Europe and the UK it might encourage more people to use more online services - but that would require too much foresight. vitalstatistix (9182)
649291 2008-03-14 08:18:00 Ah..Why won't anyone vote for symbian!!!

I actually believe there's a lack of symbian devices in the NZ market

649292 2008-03-14 08:26:00 Don't know??? Maybe there is a lack of business apps or the competition from RIM's Blackberry (aka Crac Berry) is too much...

I gather their phones are ok...

649293 2008-03-14 08:49:00 Slightly related, this pic of a slide in a Steve Jobs keynote (stash.ableapp.com) is funny. Check out Apple's slice in the graphic compared to Other's (read: Windows, lol).

Sure there's a bit of perspective involved but how convenient.

Thats a lie obviously. SJ lies quite a lot in case you haven't noticed before. Windows Mobile FTW!!!

Feb stats for mobile OS from net applications shows iPhone with .14% and climbing ahead of Windows CE at .06% which would mean that the iPhone has 2x the market share of Windows CE.

My nokia is a symbian, and it is good for what it is, a cheapish smart phone. I don't have any problems with symbian, and it seems reliable and easy to install applications on. It is also multiptasking, unlike OS X on the iphone, which doesn't multitask.

Not true, although the system is noticably slower running more than two apps, progressively worsening as you run more.
