649790 2008-03-15 23:59:00 The following is not intended to provoke discussion as to whether or not you believe in the Easter Bunny or the origins of Easter.

What are you and your family doing this coming Easter?

Will you be celebrating or is the long weekend just another excuse for a break away from work?

Me? I’m doing both.:)

649791 2008-03-16 00:07:00 My first break since I only started this job this year and can therefore not take any other time of yet. I'm not religious nor do I like the commercialization of dates like this and Christmas so I save my money for better things. I eat chocolate all year especially when doing outdoors stuff like tramping and caving, so don't need a special day set aside for eating even more of it.

P.s my wife would disagree however

649792 2008-03-16 00:20:00 Chocolate gives me a headache, but that doesn't mean I should spoil the fun for others, somebody else can have mine!

Besides the religious significance (without that we wouldn't have Christmas or Easter  and we are all entitled to our own thoughts, it is often a time for relaxation. Something that seems to be in short supply for most.

I totally agree about the commercialisation.

I hope to be keeping off the roads as much as possible.....oh yes!! and also must remember to do grocery shopping on Wednesday, before the mayhem!

Have a great Easter everyone.

Cheers,
Marnie

649793 2008-03-16 00:30:00 Just another weekend. Same old same old ...
No plans at all. Go out for a walk with my camera, play on my 'puter, read stuff online, read the online newspaper. Watch TV, do some readings and studyings of my own hobbies.

But yes, I try to travel when I do in offpeak. Less hectic and less costly.

From work, still have the Easter Egg from last yr in the fridge - not into chocolate other than dark chocolate and still its sparingly.

Have to agree. Any and every reason (no matter how sacred or not) is a good reason to get on the bandwagon and sell!

There is one "S" in Easter and Christmas, both of them dollar signs!:illogical

649795 2008-03-16 00:49:00 House maintenance, long bike rides (if we can find some quiet back roads without too many hills), beer, a bit of chocolate (the kids have been told that the EB is dead - Dad spotted him on his last ride - roadkill. Don't worry, the kids are 16 and 13, no psychological scarring expected). johcar (6283)
649796 2008-03-16 00:51:00 To me it is just another weekend... but with 4 days! :D

I can't wait for it... Work is madly busy...

My ideal Easter holiday will be just relaxing... But what will be happening is different... Mass family gathering...

649798 2008-03-16 02:58:00 I will probably be catching up on work, an gardening as well as running round after bored children, who don't seem to believe that Vacuuming, gardening, dusting and washing are "Fun" activities worthy of their time

Actually until the kids mentioned it I had forgotten about it, since putting the "no junk mail" sticker on the letter box I had a virtually stres free Xmas and am looking to the same for easter, (still miss my mitre 10/placemakers junk mail though)
