So when I down loaded Thun. You then have to get your own spell checker? Shouldnt this be already in the Thunderbird program?

794392 2009-07-23 04:56:00 1. Install the Dictionary fix; journal.mozdev.org
(will need to restart Thunderbird)

2. Download (Save As) to desktop the dictionary file:
addons.mozilla.org

3. Install the dictionary definition from within Thunderbird from the Tools > Install Dictionary menu option. You simply select the dictionary definition from your desktop and restart the client.

IF that doesn't work try here:
kb.mozillazine.org
