2009-07-21 22:12:00 | I am wondering if BSODs are caused by hardware problems, or software. Recently I have been getting a BSOD every time I put my machine to sleep. The screen goes into standby, then comes back on. I'll try and post an error log later. | sammo450 (13626) | |

2009-07-22 01:20:00 | BSOD's are caused by either hardware or the hardware drivers (software). It may be a hardware problem or if you have changed/updated hardware drivers recently the driver may be the cause. | Rod J (451) | |

2009-07-22 04:27:00 | Malware / rootkits can also make you crash. So, its not only hardware or software that can cause BSOD's. And software / drivers (that may not) be compatible with your version of windows. | Speedy Gonzales (78) | |
2009-07-22 08:14:00 | Around 75% of the time its driver issues IF its not that then its hardware failure(most likely RAM)

Did you just update your video card drivers, change any settings in the BIOS, install any new hardware or install any new software? If it was faulty hardware I doubt the error would be that consistent and happen every single time. Next time you get it or check the log then we'll know (hopefully) |
