Try crawling under peoples houses, running Cat5 , nailing the clips then clipping it to the floor joists so its tidy and doesn't give invitations for cats to Chew on . Average clearance between floor and ground 500mm if your lucky - come out with overalls covered in crap, looking like you been dragged through the blackberry bush backwards - then discovering while dragging the box of Cat5 you left the damn hammer to nail the clips up behind  |

| 650408 | 2008-03-18 19:27:00 | Try crawling under peoples houses, running Cat5 , Hehe, I used to do this sort of thing at Akld Uni. In rat-filled basements, funny little cupboards under stairs, all sorts of dark and dirty places. Of course its why I left. Running cables is so boring.......... |

He he at least you guys probably had overalls on - I've got to do it, and then still be immaculately groomed to serve customers if need be!! When we built this place, I also found myself up on the roof many times with a laptop (often in the charming Dunedin weather!) trying to align antennae for our P2P wireless . Often had to climb up movable scaffolding (again with laptop in hand) to check access points . Not to mention the night we moved all the servers from the old site to the new one, and were up til 4am getting them all working again in time for open-of-business! Like I said, IT isn't all milk n cookies!! :D |
