794851 2009-07-24 05:10:00 Hey im looking to get a computer microphone or some sort either just a straight desktop microphone or one that is with a headset. BUT the cheapest and best bang for buck out of the two is which i want. The highest proiety is the microphone - to be very clear and noise cancelling.

Im thinking of getting some Z-2300 in the furture so a headset would be pointless? There for a desktop microphone? Help me decide

My budget is around $20

ive seen these two desktop microphones

www.dse.co.nz

Is there any others that are good? If not out of the two which is better?
Personal experiences?

Another question - Would a $50 headset have better sound quality in the speakers then apple ipod ones? Or will all headsets be the same?

794853 2009-07-24 06:44:00 Most of the cheap ones like that don't do noise canceling

However your sound card may provide that feature itself

794856 2009-07-24 07:16:00 i just heard a $20 mic and its clear as. How much do u gotta pay or wat is the minimal mic to cancel back ground noise? Recommendations? Blackandblue (14231)
794857 2009-07-24 07:32:00 Is there a disadvantage with usb microphones? They cant be plugged into the sound card and wont take its effect? Blackandblue (14231)
794858 2009-07-24 08:13:00 A USB Microphone would provide its own sound device which may or may not include noise canceling

When I say sound card I am also referring to your onboard sound. It's the same as a sound card but integrated into the same board as other things (the motherboard)

794859 2009-07-24 08:17:00 What do you want to use the mic for? Why do you need noise canceling?

If it's just for VoIP/Game chat/MSN etc then a cheap one will be OK

If you want to do high quality voice/sound recording for a game/movie/music etc then you will need something a lot better than a $20 one
