| 794641 | 2009-07-24 00:19:00 | I have a problem. When booting Vista, I get a GRUB loading Stage1.5 error 17 message. The only way I can get into Vista is using a floppy bootdisk that I had made. I Googled the problem and someone said that the problem was Ubunutu related. I did sometime ago use a Unubutu live disk to look at but did not load it onto the hard drive. A suggestion was to get into the Vista system and in run, type Bootrec.exe /fixboot. I did this but it has made no difference. Can anyone help please? |

| 794643 | 2009-07-24 01:32:00 | Thank you Blam6. Tried the repair options several times and it didn't work. So.... and I've tried this before with success, I reloaded W7 (the first offering by PCWorld) to a separate partition and lo and behold, everything was fixed! Now I can unload W7 and wait for the real W7. |
